Little Neighbourhood's Philosophy
Health & Safety Plan
It is important for all families to understand that policies are in place to protect
families, children and teachers.
Sick Policy:
- Do not send your sick child to daycare
- Please do not administer medication to your sick child before coming to the center
- Have a plan of action in place in case you are called to pick up your child
Symptoms:
If your child has any cold/flu like symptoms, such as...
- Fever: 38 ℃ or 100 ℉ or higher
- Chills
- Cough
- Sore throat and painful swallowing
- Stuffy or runny nose
- Headache
Please stay home.
Pick Up/Drop Off Procedure:
- If your child is not well, they are not permitted to stay
- We ask you to say your good-byes at the entrance
- If family notices any of your child’s belongings is missing, please notify the teacher and they will take a look once all the children has been picked up
A little bit about the founder Ms. Betty
Ms. Betty was born and raised in Vancouver, BC, even though she was born in Canada her first language was Cantonese. Her desire to teach began when her younger brother was born. At five years old, she was cradling her baby brother and she whispered, "I will teach you the whole world". And throughout the years she studied and worked in interior design, event planning, education, hospitality and business. Somehow she would always come back to teaching. Ms. Betty has taught in many different settings including daycares, preschools, montessori, elementary schools, big sister programs and even on cruise ships travelling around the world. And for some during COVID-19 may not be the greatest, however for Ms. Betty it was a moment of realization meets opportunity. So in August of 2021. that was when Ms. Betty opened Little Neighbourhood, with all her sweat and tears.
Her intention is for all children to come together to learn, to laugh and to grow each day.
